Thankfulness in Abundance November 22 2014
The holidays are here. And one of our favorites is the holiday dedicated to gratitude.
We are so grateful for the abundance of seasonal florals available to us that are grown by small farms, local friends and conscious growers.
We are grateful for our long time customers that have become good friends.
And our new customers that bring in an energy of excitement as we look forward to a new year of floral fun, joy and beauty.
In observance of Thanksgiving the shop will be CLOSED November 26-30
Thank you for being you,
All of Us
September Morn September 09 2014
Stay with me a while
I only wanna sing for you
We've traveled halfway 'round the world
To find ourselves again
We danced until the night became a brand new day
Two lovers playing scenes from some romantic play
September morning still can make me feel that way
We hope you'll stay with us through September as we close September 12-15 for an event.
Back in the shop on Tuesday, September 16th.
And closed again for a week of Tuesday, September 30th-Tuesday, October 7th.
Back in th shop on October 8th.
We have so many events in September and October and our little staff will do our best to keep our regular shop hours as much as possible.
We appreciate your business and understanding!

August: respected and impressive August 02 2014
Welcome to August! Named after the first Roman emperor, usually considered the last month of summer---sultry, hazy, and summeriest of the months, is it not?
We are happy to be participating in many events this month and we are a bit short staffed as so many of our friends take their vacations.
So, we will be closed this Sunday (as usual) and Monday the 4th as well.
We look forward to seeing you in all your august splendor on Tuesday...
Endless Summer July 21 2014
The summer breeze makes everything better, a little sweeter as it catches the honeysuckle scent and and carries it to us, past us and on towards the sunset.
Summer flowers reflect the season. They seem a bit brighter, more fragrant...a touch more wild. Our favorite summer moments seem to be inspired by dining al fresco with loose bunches of flowers tumbling out of make shift containers like carafes, and old garden pots, pitchers and green bottles.
Summer road trips are made all the more fun by stopping by the roadside now and again and creating dashboard arrangements that dry in the sun.
Some summertime favorites include: Black-eyed Susans, Cosmos, Dahlias, Delphiniums, Green Mist, Lavender, Geranium, Climbing Roses, Peonies, and Hydrangea.
We are indeed fortunate to be surrounded by beauty.
Our shop summer hours for the next few weeks will be a bit more relaxed. As we have many events... and still haven't figured out how to be in two places at the same time.
Independence Day July 10 2014
It is interesting how life balances itself out. A we close the shop to work on a wedding extravaganza in Santa Barbara~ we also get a request to make a divorce bouquet.
As it turns out while we are celebrating a union of two people that have found one another, another couple becomes officially divorced. All on July 4th! It certainly seems poetic somehow.
May you enjoy your Independence and fleurish in every way! We will be CLOSED July 4-6
Look forward to seeing you next week.
A lovely something new... April 30 2014
From the design team of The Language of Flowers: a simpler, more modern take on the poetry of posies.
We still have the same original designs that combine the finest florals with custom made and vintage containers.
The intent that goes in to all our arrangements is the same: made with love.
Each bouquet is custom imagined and assembled especially for the recipient~ be it your elderly granny, your passion's flame or an entire event of celebration, product launch or honor.
Fleur is the culmination of all that we have learned the last five years at The Language of Flowers.
We took all the best bits, gathered them together with care and consideration (just like we do with our bouquets) and put it all in one new place:
Welcome to your new home for flowers.
